Educational Programs
The basic objective of the educational programs
is to bring the public closer to the Museum. The educational
programs organised by the Museum address mainly children,
pupils of elementary schools but also of secondary education.
Conducted tours of schools in the Museum are done based
on special programs according to the children's age and
the subject that interests them. Every Wednesday afternoon
from October until May, cycles of educational programs
are organised, in which children aged 6 - 11 study, draw
/ paint, or are occupied with constructions or some other
research that is always directly related to the Museum,
its exhibits or the history and folklore of our land.
From time to time, educational programs and special tours
for adults are also organised.
The conducted tours for schools or groups in the mornings
are done after communication and agreement with the officer
responsible for the Educational Programs.
The Cycles of Educational Programs are announced through
the press and the Nicosia Municipality's monthly schedule
of events.

Periodic Exhibitions
Exactly because one of the Museum's primary goals is
the contact with the public, periodic exhibitions are
organised from time to time. The periodic exhibitions
vary each year. Historical exhibitions are organised,
exhibitions from other museums are hosted, private collections
or the Museum's collections are presented. Many of the
exhibitions that the Museum organises are on tour and
have been presented both in other cities of Cyprus as
well as in cities abroad, always aiming to promote Nicosia
and also Cyprus in general.
The schedule of the periodic exhibitions is announced
through the press and the Nicosia Municipality's monthly
schedule of events.

The Museum's Library
An effort is being made in the Museum's Library to gather
old publications regarding Cyprus, as well as publications
that concern the History of Cyprus and especially the
history of Nicosia. At the same time it is enriched
with books that concern issues of museumology and museumography,
the conservation and protection of collections, as well
as a significant archive with publications and documents
that concern other museums and their activities.
Annual Lecture of the Leventis
Foundation
Every year -with a donation by the Leventis Foundation
-a lecture by a prominent scientist is organised, presenting
a specific aspect of the history of Nicosia and Cyprus.
The date and time are announced through the press and
the Nicosia Municipality's monthly schedule of events.
Other Activities
The Museum organises lectures, special seminars, and
hosts events in its outdoor yard every year. Also successful
are the conducted tours under the general title "Historical
Memories", in which docents -dressed in historical
attires -guide the public through specific halls of
the Museum, that is, through specific historical periods.
Other annual activities of the Museum are the events
conducted every year on the 18th of May (International
Day of Museums). Many of these activities would not
have been realised without the contribution and co-operation
of the Association of Friends of the Museum.
The schedule of events / activities is announced through
the press and the Nicosia Municipality's monthly schedule
of events.
