Municipal Swimming Pool

THE MUNICIPALITY / Departments / Municipal Swimming Pool
The Municipal Swimming Pool is part of the group of Nicosia swimming pools, which includes the Olympic Swimming Pool complex that is under the management of the Cyprus Sports Organisation. Inaugurated on 22 April 1989, the Municipal Swimming Pool opened to the public in June of the same year. It is located in the Ayios Andreas area, between the House of Representatives, the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Agriculture.

An oasis in the town centre, the Municipal Swimming Pool is situated in an area planted with towering eucalyptus trees. Inside, the main swimming pool and the three smaller pools for children, in conjunction with the green grass, imposing palm trees, walnut trees and colourful bougainvillea, create the ideal setting for relaxation and fun.

Once the sun sets, the Municipal Swimming Pool goes into night mode; the venue is ideal for weddings, dinner parties, christenings, business events, birthday parties and other functions, all at affordable prices.

Parking is made easier thanks to a car park, accessed from Loukis Akritas Avenue.

Visitors can enjoy food and drinks at the cafeteria; prices are controlled by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation.
Quality of service and safety are important. The Municipal Swimming Pool employs professionally trained staff and experienced lifeguards with first aid training. There is also a locker-room for your personal effects.

Special care is attached to cleanliness and the quality of the pool water, which is checked at least three times a day for chemicals and microbes by the health services of Nicosia Municipality. A certified mechanical engineer daily checks the maintenance of the electrical facilities.
The venue is also available for hosting receptions.

The venue is open to the public:

From 10.00 to 19:00 daily, throughout the summer season, early May to late September.
