Street Lighting
In 1906, Luxe Pressure lamps replaced kerosene lanterns.
“The municipality’s lamps installed at short intervals along the whole street suffered an eclipse” with the “quiet clear light” of the new lamp “dispersing darkness and turning night into day”,
(Phoni tis Kyprou 22 January 1906).
Electric street lighting was introduced in 1912.
