Municipal Gardens

Money collected to buy a memorial clock on the death of Queen Victoria in 1897 was finally used to buy land outside the Paphos Gate on which the municipal gardens were created at the turn of the century.

They were initially called the Victoria Memorial Gardens. Citizens could enjoy band music, played by the municipal band, in the municipal gardens.
