Following the success of the initial two performances in the framework of Nicosia 2030, the production “Franz Kafka’s Doll”, will return for two additional shows on Saturday, 15 March 2025, at 15:30 and 18:00, at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
Nicosia International Festival continues to invest in the younger generation. After the remarkable success of "STILL! A statue that travelled the world", which captivated 12,000 spectators, the same award-winning creative team returns with a brand-new production, “Franz Kafka's Doll”. Stavros Stavrou, Kostas Silvestros, and Thodoris Economou invite us into the magical realm of a story that, according to many, is based on true events – A story that reminds us that "whatever we love may be lost, but love will always return in another form." The performance is rich in imagery, live music, and humour. “Franz Kafka’s Doll” is part of the 5th Nicosia International Festival programme.
Set in Berlin in the autumn of 1923, the story begins in a park where a little girl weeps inconsolably over the loss of her doll. There, she encounters the renowned author Franz Kafka, who reassures her that the doll is not lost but has embarked on a great journey around the world. From that day on, the girl begins receiving letters from her doll – penned by Kafka – detailing her adventures across the globe.
