To Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Λευκωσίας ολοκληρώνει τη σειρά δράσεων #acceptance, που διοργανώνεται με αφορμή το Cyprus Pride 2023, με το τρίπτυχο σύγχρονο χορού (triple bill) με έργα δύο συμπατριωτών μας που διαπρέπουν εκτός συνόρων, τον Πάνο Μαλακτό και την Διαμάντω Χατζηζαχαρία. Και τα τρία έργα αφορμώνται από την ανάγκη για συντροφικότητα, ορατότητα και συμπερίληψη. Εξερευνώντας την ευαλωτότητα μας, την ζωτική μας ανάγκη για ανθρώπινη επαφή και συνύπαρξη, οι δύο καλλιτέχνες δημιουργούν σύμπαντα στα οποία τα σώματα μάχονται για την ισότητα, για τον έρωτα, για την αγάπη, για την εργασία, για την θέση τους στην κοινωνία.

Είναι γνωστό σε όλους, αλλά περισσότερο στους ανθρώπους που εργάζονται στις παραστατικές τέχνες, ότι η οντισιόν είναι μια αγχωτική φάση στη δημιουργική διαδικασία. Και ειδικά στην αρχή της καριέρας ενός καλλιτέχνη-χορευτή είναι σχετικά αναπόφευκτη.

To Hire me, please έχει έναν πολύ βασικό άξονα: την ειρωνεία και τον σχολιασμό στη διαδικασία της οντισιόν - τον σαρκασμό για τον χαρακτήρα και τη δομή της. Από αυτή την οπτική γωνία, ο χορευτής-χορογράφος παρατηρεί αφενός την προσωπική του άγνοια για τα όρια και τα υλικά που διαθέτει, την οποία τελικά παρέχει στους κριτές και αφετέρου το ένστικτο επιβίωσης που τον υποχρεώνει στην πλήρη ικανοποίηση των πιθανών μελλοντικών εργοδοτών του. Η κύρια αντίθεση του Hire me, please είναι η απόλυτη διαθεσιμότητα του ακροατή (κάνω ό,τι καλύτερο μπορώ για να επιβιώσω τελικά) και η συναισθηματική / σωματική / πνευματική / ψυχική του κατάσταση πριν, κατά τη διάρκεια και μετά την ακρόαση.

Το έργο παρουσιάζει την ομορφιά της συντροφικότητας καθώς και την σημασία της αυτονομίας μέσα από την κυριολεκτική προβολή της αλληλεξάρτησης. Φέρει ως έμπνευση τον Πλατωνικό μύθο του Άλλου Μισού δίνοντας έμφαση στην εμπειρία των σωμάτων ως ένα καθώς και στην πορεία τους προς τον διαχωρισμό. Το would you still love me if I was like this είναι ένα πρόσχαρο ταξίδι τρυφερότητας στον κόσμο ενός ασυνήθιστου ντουέτου.

Ο Πάνος Μαλακτός συνεργάζεται με τον Ηλία Αδάμ και ερευνούν την ιδέα της ριζοσπαστικής σκηνικής ευαισθησίας.

Στον SADBOI αρέσει να βιώνει τα βάσανά του. Είναι γκέι, horny, συντετριμμένος και εξαιρετικά ήρεμος. Έχει instagram άρα υπάρχει. Το SADBOI είναι ένα αυτο-μυθοπλαστικό πορτρέτο ενός χορευτή-sadboi. Η παράσταση επιχειρεί μια διφορούμενη και σύνθετη αφήγηση, η οποία διερευνά το σεξ, τον έρωτα και τη θλίψη στην πλήρως τεχνολογική και σεξουαλικοποιημένη μεταμοντέρνα εποχή. Το SADBOI στοχεύει στη δημιουργία μιας καθηλωτικής εμπειρίας όπου η έντονη σωματικότητα διασταυρώνεται με τον εικονικό χώρο του Διαδικτύου (social media, memes, εφαρμογές γνωριμιών). Εάν τα ερωτικά τραγούδια είναι σαχλά, περιμένετε μέχρι να ακούσετε και αυτό. Πόσα fire emoji θα του βάλλετε; Οι admins αυτής της παράστασης ψάχνουν επιβεβαίωση.

Nicosia International Festival completes its #acceptance series, organized on the occasion of Cyprus Pride 2023, with a contemporary dance triple bill with works by two Cypriot contemporary dance artists, Panos Malaktos and Diamanto Hatzizacharia. All three projects are motivated by the need for camaraderie, visibility and inclusion. Exploring our vulnerability, our vital need for human contact and coexistence, the two artists create universes in which bodies fight for equality, for love, for love, for work, for their place in society. Audition as a condition. As a physical and psychological state. As an evolutionary process. As brutality. As a relationship of authority. As a statement. As an obstacle. As a prerequisite. As a "journey". As a journey. As a verdict. As a depreciation of personality. As a retrospect. As a role-playing game. As a rejection. As an exploration of boundaries. As a total availability.
It is well known to everyone, but more to the people that work in the performing arts, that auditioning is a stressful phase in the creative process. And especially at the beginning of the career of an artist-dancer is also relatively unavoidable.

“Hire me, please” has a very basic axis: the irony and the commentary in the auditioning process - the sarcasm over their character and structure. From this perspective, the dancer-choreographer observes on the one hand his personal ignorance of the boundaries and materials he possesses, which he ultimately provides the judges and on the other the survival instinct that compels him to the full satisfaction of his potential future employers. The main contrast of Hire me, please is the absolute availability of the listener (I do my best so that I will ultimately survive) and his emotional / physical / spiritual / mental state before, during and after the audition.

The piece demonstrates the beauty of companionship and the importance of autonomy through a literal projection of interdependence. It draws inspiration from Plato’s myth of the Other Half while highlighting the experience of the bodies as one entity and their journey to separation. Would you still love me if I was like this, is a playful journey of love and tenderness in the world of a rather unusual duet.

Panos Malactos works with Elias Adam and researches the concept of radical stage vulnerability.

“SADBOI” likes his suffering raw. He is gay, horny, heartbroken and extremely peaceful. He instagrams, therefore he exists. “SADBOI” is an autofictional portrait of a sadboi dancer. The show attempts an ambiguous and complex narration, which explores sex, love and sadness in the fully technological and sexualised post - modern age. “SADBOI” aims to create an immersive experience where intense physicality intersects with the virtual space of the internet (social media, memes, dating apps). If lovesongs are dumb, wait till you hear this one. How many fire emojis will this get? The admins of this show are searching for validation.
