One hundred years ago, the Bauhaus building in Dessau, designed by Walter Gropius, was inaugurated.
To mark this occasion, the Cyprus German Cultural Association is hosting an evening of lectures as part of the Weeks of the German Language. The evening will open with a brief retrospective on the Bauhaus and its far-reaching influence, presented by architect Karin Georgiades.
This will be followed by a lecture by Prof. Dr. Marios C. Phocas, entitled “From the Bauhaus Workshop to Today’s Digital Workshop.” The lecture explores how the Bauhaus brought together different forms of knowledge, materials, craftsmanship, and technologies in the shared act of building, and how today digital design, computer-aided processes, and automated fabrication are creating new forms of collaboration.

Vor 100 Jahren wurde das Dessauer Bauhaus-Gebäude von Walter Gropius eröffnet.
Zu diesem Anlass veranstaltet der Zyprisch-Deutsche Kulturverein im Rahmen der Wochen der Deutschen Sprache einen Vortragsabend. Einführend hält die Architektin Karin Georgiades einen kurzen Rückblick auf das Bauhaus, und dessen weitreichenden Einfluß.
Es folgt ein Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Marios C. Phocas „Von der Bauhauswerkstatt bis zur heutigen digitalen Werkstatt“. Er beleuchtet wie das Bauhaus unterschiedliche Formen von Wissen, Materialien, Handwerk und Technologien im gemeinsamen Akt des Bauens zusammenführte, und wie heute digitales Entwerfen, computergestützte Verfahren und automatisierte Fertigung neue Formen der Zusammenarbeit schaffen.

Πριν από εκατό χρόνια εγκαινιάστηκε το κτίριο του Bauhaus στο Dessau, σε σχέδια του Walter Gropius.
Με αφορμή αυτή την επέτειο, ο Κύπρο-Γερμανικός Πολιτιστικός Σύνδεσμος διοργανώνει μια βραδιά διαλέξεων στο πλαίσιο των Εβδομάδων της Γερμανικής Γλώσσας.
Η βραδιά θα ξεκινήσει με μια σύντομη αναδρομή στο Bauhaus και την ευρεία επιρροή του, την οποία θα παρουσιάσει η αρχιτέκτονας Κάριν Γεωργιάδου.
Θα ακολουθήσει διάλεξη του Καθηγητή Δρ. Μάριου Κ. Φοκά με τίτλο
«Από το εργαστήριο του Bauhaus στο σημερινό ψηφιακό εργαστήριο». Η διάλεξη εξετάζει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο το Bauhaus συνδύασε διαφορετικές μορφές γνώσης, υλικά, τεχνικές δεξιότητες και τεχνολογίες μέσα από την κοινή πράξη της κατασκευής, καθώς και τον τρόπο με τον οποίο σήμερα ο ψηφιακός σχεδιασμός, οι διαδικασίες με τη βοήθεια υπολογιστή και η αυτοματοποιημένη κατασκευή δημιουργούν νέες μορφές συνεργασίας.
