To Ίδρυμα Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Κύπρου και ο Σύνδεσμος «Φίλοι της Λευκωσίας» συνδιοργανώνουν το εντυπωσιακό THE VIDEO GAME SYMPHONY με τη Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Κύπρου, υπό τη διεύθυνση της διεθνώς καταξιωμένης αρχιμουσικού Λίζας Ξανθοπούλου.
Σε μια βραδιά όπου η συμφωνική μουσική συναντά τον συναρπαστικό κόσμο των βιντεοπαιχνιδιών, η Ορχήστρα ζωντανεύει αγαπημένες μελωδίες του χθες και του σήμερα που σημάδεψαν γενιές παικτών, μέσα από τις εξαίρετες ενορχηστρώσεις του Andrés Soto. Από τα θρυλικά Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog και Pokémon έως τα καθηλωτικά World of Warcraft, Monster Hunt και Elden Ring, το πρόγραμμα ξεδιπλώνει τη μοναδική εξέλιξη της μουσικής των video games μέσα στον χρόνο.
Μια πρωτότυπη γιορτή μουσικής, εικόνας και νοσταλγίας που θα συναρπάσει μικρούς και μεγάλους, ξυπνώντας αγαπημένες νεανικές αναμνήσεις και δημιουργώντας καινούργιες.

ΛΙΖΑ ΞΑΝΘΟΠΟΥΛΟΥ - Μουσική διεύθυνση
Η Λίζα Ξανθοπούλου γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη, όπου σπούδασε πιάνο, ανώτερα θεωρητικά και διεύθυνση χορωδίας στο Κρατικό Ωδείο Θεσσαλονίκης. Είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Μουσικών Σπουδών του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης καθώς και του Πανεπιστημίου Καλών Τεχνών του Βερολίνου.
Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών της συμμετείχε στο Dirigentenforum του Γερμανικού Μουσικού Συμβουλίου, μελετώντας κοντά σε διακεκριμένους μαέστρους, ενώ το 2002 εντάχθηκε στη λίστα Maestros von Morgen. Έχει διακριθεί σε διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς διεύθυνσης, κατακτώντας, μεταξύ άλλων, το πρώτο βραβείο στο Bad Homburg το 2002.
Έχει διευθύνει όπερα και συναυλίες σε Ευρώπη, Ασία και Αφρική. Διετέλεσε Καλλιτεχνική Διευθύντρια της Όπερας Θεσσαλονίκης και Καλλιτεχνική Συντονίστρια της Συμφωνικής Ορχήστρας Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης. Από το 2022 είναι Μουσική Διευθύντρια της Wind OR-JESTER Berlin.
ANDRÉS SOTO - Ενορχηστρωτής
Ο Andrés Soto είναι συνθέτης, ενορχηστρωτής και μαέστρος με έδρα τη Βαρκελώνη και κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου στη σύνθεση μουσικής για κινηματογράφο, τηλεόραση και βιντεοπαιχνίδια από το Berklee College of Music (Campus Βαλένθιας).
Με ειδίκευση στη διαδραστική μουσική, έχει συμβάλει στην πραγματοποίηση χιλιάδων συναυλιών μουσικής από βιντεοπαιχνίδια παγκοσμίως, μέσω της μεταγραφής και ενορχήστρωσης έργων για συμφωνική ορχήστρα.
Οι διασκευές του έχουν παρουσιαστεί από διεθνούς κύρους ορχήστρες, όπως η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα του Μπιλκέντ, η Ορχήστρα του Teatro Carlo Felice, η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα της Χαλάπα, η Κρατική Ορχήστρα Θεσσαλονίκης, η Φιλαρμονική Ορχήστρα της Ταϊλάνδης και η Filmová Filharmonie.
Έχει επίσης συμμετάσχει σε διαδραστικά projects, όπως τα Maestro VR και Musicmenia, και έχει δώσει διαλέξεις σε ESMUC, UCLA και Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini.

A concert unlike any other is coming this year to Eleftheria Square, against the stunning backdrop of Lefkosia’s illuminated Venetian walls! The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation and the Friends of Nicosia Association present the spectacular THE VIDEO GAME SYMPHONY, featuring the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the world-acclaimed conductor Lisa Xanthopoulou.
In an evening where symphonic music meets the captivating world of video games, the Orchestra brings to life beloved melodies from both classic and contemporary games that have left their mark on generations of players. Through the outstanding arrangements of Andrés Soto the programme traces the remarkable evolution of video game music through the years, from the legendary Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokémon to the immersive worlds of World of Warcraft, Monster Hunt and Elden Ring.
A unique celebration of music, imagery and nostalgia that will captivate audiences of all ages, rekindle cherished youthful memories, while creating new ones.

LISA XANTHOPOULOU - Conductor
Lisa Xanthopoulou was born in Thessaloniki, where she studied piano, advanced music theory, and choral conducting. She graduated from the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and completed her studies in orchestral conducting at the Berlin University of the Arts.
During her studies, she participated in the German Music Council’s Dirigentenforum, studying with renowned conductors including Kurt Sanderling, Marc Soustrot, Dmitri Kitajenko, and Kurt Masur. In 2002, she was named to the Maestros von Morgen list. She has received prizes at international conducting competitions, including First Prize in Bad Homburg (2002). She has conducted opera and symphonic concerts across Europe, Asia, and Africa. She served as Artistic Director of the Thessaloniki Opera and Artistic Coordinator of the Thessaloniki Municipality Symphony Orchestra. Since 2022, she has been Music Director of Wind OR-JESTER Berlin.
ANDRÉS SOTO - Orchestrator
Andrés Soto is a composer, orchestrator, and conductor, holding a Master’s in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games from Berklee College of Music (Valencia Campus).
Specializing in interactive audio, his work has facilitated thousands of video game music concerts. Through orchestral transcription and arranging, he provides scores enabling ensembles to perform this repertoire.
His adaptations have been performed by ensembles including the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Teatro Carlo Felice Orchestra, Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, and Filmová Filharmonie.
Andrés has contributed to interactive projects such as Maestro VR, a virtual reality conducting simulator, and Musicmenia, a music card game. He has lectured at ESMUC, UCLA, and the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory.
